Natural Edition Canvas - Bright White and Natural
These canvases are 100% cotton European canvas product,
for those that like the more traditional frayed thread look.
The Natural Canvas products have looser weaves than the tighter blend types and consequently is much softer in the hand. While they are less dimensionally stable than the blends, our Natural products are often thought of as authentic “artists” canvas and are widely used by those doing exclusive art reproduction.
Available in a modern bright white and the more traditional zero optical brightener off white shade. It is also suitable for protection by Aquathane-UV, our water based liquid protective coating.
The Natural products are all acid free and have had most cotton seeds removed.
The tradition of presenting art on 100% cotton canvas is over 400 years old with many of the original works still surviving.

Aquathane-UV Protective Coating
Aquathane-UV has been tested in combination with Premium Edition and Natural Edition canvas products.
Both products were printed with genuine Epson 9800 Ultrachrome Ink.
The tests were completed without the usual protective glass layer as canvas is usually displayed in the open.
The Image Permanence Institute (IPI) in the USA conducted accelerated fade tests independently.
The combination of Aquathane-UV, Premium Edition Canvas and Epson Ultrachrome ink did not reach endpoint (failure) in any of the 81 colour patches tested, including unprinted canvas, in the equivalent of 102 years exposure.
Aquathane-UV is made in Australia specifically for pigment printed canvas products and contains nano technology UV inhibitors, flexibility and anti-fungal agents.
Aquathane-UV’s base resin is a type of flexible urethane not an inexpensive lacquer or acrylic.
Although much more expensive than acrylics, urethanes are better suited to the Australian climate offering more resistance to the Australian heat and being fully waterproof after curing.
